Aug. 21, 2015—Representatives from H-E-B, including brand mascot H-E-Buddy, visited Keith Elementary School on Aug. 21 to make the surprise announcement to staff that the Fairfield Market store would enter into an official Adopt-a-School partnership with the school.
CFISD’s Adopt-a-School program pairs schools with community and business partners to utilize the resources of the community to strengthen and enrich the quality of education for students.
David Hamilton, general manager of the Fairfield Market H-E-B, said his store’s 350 team members look forward to supporting the neighborhood school.
Keith Elementary School staff applaud the surprise announcement that the school would enter an Adopt-a-School partnership with H-E-B Fairfield Market.
“They’re very excited. This is such a great opportunity to serve a great school in a great community,” Hamilton said. “Schools are one of our big pillars at H-E-B. The community gives back so much to us and we love giving back to them.”
Since its opening in 2012, H-E-B Fairfield Market has partnered with the campus in various ways, according to Keith Principal Cheryl Fisher.
“They have been huge supporters of Keith from the beginning,” Fisher said. “They have been involved with every Sock Hop fundraiser and have donated supplies and staff appreciation treats. We are excited to continue that partnership. We have talked with them about volunteering when the need arises and serving as classroom readers on Fridays. We look forward to a great long-term relationship with H-E-B.”
