May 22, 2025—CFISD has been honored with the 2025 Best Communities for Music Education national designation from the National Association of Music Merchants (NAMM) Foundation for the eighth consecutive year.

The 2025 award, which honors more than 900 school districts across the country, highlights districts and individual schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide music access and education to all students.

“Receiving this honor reaffirms CFISD’s place as a leader in music education,” said Joe Glass, coordinator of secondary music. “It highlights the passion of our students, the dedication of our teachers and our ongoing commitment to excellence. I believe CFISD is setting the standard for districts across the nation.”

To qualify for the best communities designation, CFISD answered detailed questions about funding, graduation requirements, music class participation, instruction time, facilities, support for music programs and community music-making programs. Responses were verified by the school officials and reviewed by The Music Research Institute at the University of Kansas.
